As we progress at making more in-person services, programs, and ministries available, we have consciously chosen to use the word "regather" to describe the process rather than "reopen." The ministries of Chapel never closed and were actively meeting needs in our community even when we could not use the church facility.
But as the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Guidelines for Places of Worship open up, our regathering approach has held three key principals close to heart as we make decisions on what, how, and when we will regather. A biblical view, a phased approach, and safety needs will influence how our Sunday services and all our ministry programs look and occur.
9/2/2021 COVID-19 Update
As we have communicated earlier, we are carefully monitoring the ever-present Covid19 situation and praying for God’s wisdom as we create a safe and healthy church environment. As you probably already know, the CDC states that wearing a mask while indoors is a good idea. Because our Commonwealth is presently not requiring houses of worship to wear masks during indoor services, we are following suit and will not require the wearing of masks. As things continue to develop and change, we will monitor the situation and make decisions accordingly. Please join us in prayer over this time, and thanks so much for being a part of the Chapel family.
6/7/2021 Chapel COVID-19 UPDATE
Dear Chapel Family and Friends,
Thank you everyone for being a part of our Chapel family. These past almost 15 months have been challenging for us all, but it does appear that the pandemic is coming to a close. It will be a new challenge to “return to normal”, but the end is in sight.
The following will go into effect today, Monday, June 7th:
- Regardless of vaccination status, age, or location (indoors or outdoors, adults or children), masks are no longer required.
- We can return to 100% capacity with no social distancing requirements and no registration for adults or children.
- Our safety questions will remain in place (stay home if you are sick or have been in close contact with someone diagnosed with COVID).
If you are unvaccinated and older than four years old, we are passing along the DPH's recommendation to wear masks in indoor settings and when you can’t socially distance. But especially during this phase of the pandemic, we respect each individual’s and each family's decision when it comes to masking and social distancing. During our Sunday morning services and weekday programming, some will choose to wear masks and social distance, and others will not. We welcome everyone. We are excited to see people return, worship, and fellowship together again.
We checked directly with our Local Board of Health, and we are monitoring COVID trends in Massachusetts. If there are any updated guidelines from our Board of Health or an uptick in cases in Massachusetts, we will make appropriate adjustments.
Thank you everyone for your patience. If you have questions, please contact the leadership at Chapel.
