Westboro Service Project

  • Date: July 7, 2018
  • Time: All Day
  • Coordinator: Daryl Reininger

We have been telling you for weeks to mark Saturday, July 7 on your calendars for a Chapel Serves project.  I hope that you have – if you haven't here's your reminder to do so now because we are so excited to be serving the town of Westborough!

What will you be doing on July 7?

Meet us at Chapel at 2pm to gather into teams and receive instructions.  The town of Westborough has tasked us with painting 16 fire hydrants around town.  In addition, we will be cleaning the Chauncey field area of any trash or debris.  We will also need people to stay at Chapel to help us set-up for dinner.

Pray for our town as you work!,/strong>

Return to Chapel when your project is completed (we expect to be done by 5:30pm) for dinner and fellowship. We will have salad and pizza waiting for you! If you have a gluten allergy or sensitivity, please be sure to note this on the registration form so we will be sure to have enough gluten-free pizza for you.

What do you need to bring?

  • Clothes that can get dirty and get paint on them.
  • Attitudes that are positive and flexible.
  • Gloves
  • Know that you will be responsible to transport your family to and from the work site.

What will you do if it rains?

  • If the weather becomes an issue then we will move our Chapel Serves day to July 8 (same timeframe).
  • If the weather is also an issue on July 8, we will try again on Saturday, July 14 (same timeframe).

What do you need to do today?

You need to click HERE to register you and any family members or friends that may be coming with you. We need to have an accurate count for the projects and for the food. Once you have completed the form then we just need you to show up on July 7 at 2pm.

To some, this service day may seem like a small thing, but I believe that serving our community is what Jesus would do. It is an opportunity for us to let our town know that Jesus cares for Westborough. Jeremiah 29:7 says, Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper. While we may not be in exile, God has placed us in this community at this time for us to be a light. If you are unable to join us as we serve our town, please set aside time to pray on July 7 between 3 and 5pm.

We Get To!
