The Church

We believe the church is a universal entity that is expressed in united local gatherings. Believers gathered locally rather than being alone or being marginally connected to a distant gathering of believers. When the local church gathers as one, we are able to fully express Christ and have a larger impact in our local communities. (Matthew 18:15-19, Hebrews 10:24-25, Acts 2:40-47, Ephesians 4:11-16)

Throughout scripture, we see the church made up of a diverse family just as heaven will someday be. The church is not a gathering of certain ages, ethnic groups, social groups, talents or spiritual gifts. When a local church is able to unite as a diverse family for the cause of Christ that is when the church will have its greatest impact. (Romans 10:9-13, 1 Corinthians 12:18-26, Ephesians 4:11-16, Revelation 7:9-10)

We believe that all believers have been adopted into the family of God. Therefore, the local church is where believers gather as a family to worship, build one another up in Christ, and impact their local communities. When the local church gathers as a family, it is more than the individual parts and is about the whole body of Christ. (John 1:12-13, Romans 8:15-17, 1 Corinthians 4:14-17, Ephesians 2:19-22)
